I'm a pro cleaner

A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has revealed the five household items she avoids at all costs.

Cleaning your home can feel like a big undertaking, especially if you have certain features.

In her video, TikTok user Victoria (@pocketrocketscleaning) explained that her list was based purely on "the ease to keep it clean."

For her first recommendation, the TikToker discussed "high-shin surfaces" such as high-gloss kitchen tiles, worktops, or cabinets.

"They do look amazing when they are pristine but it’s so hard to keep them pristine," she told viewers.

Victoria continued: "They never look shiny, they always look streaky, and I just find that they are difficult to clean so I personally would not choose to have them."

Next, she advised her followers to steer clear of circular shower cubicles.

She explained: "They are so hard to clean, the rails at the bottom get all limescaled up and you can’t get in, even with a toothbrush, they’re just an absolute nightmare to clean."

Victoria also revealed to her audience why she avoids having blinds in her home.

"In particular the slat blinds that go across ways, it doesn’t matter what material they are whether they’re wood, metal, plastic, they are absolute dust collectors and take ages to clean," she said.

She called the decor feature "a cleaner's worst nightmare" and explained that each set can take half an hour to wipe down properly.

For her next tip, Victoria recommended opting for simple light fixtures instead of chandeliers.

"I know that crystal chandeliers aren’t very fashionable right now but even busy lighting where there’s lots of things going on," she said.

Victoria continued: "Who wants to keep taking the lampshade down to dust?

"They are a dust collector and when you turn the lights on it lights up the dust and the cobwebs so they are a bit of a nightmare to keep clean, I personally wouldn’t have them," she concluded.

She also explained why black kitchen appliances require more cleaning than other colors.

"In particular ones in high traffic areas like my fridge, that people are going in and out of constantly, it shows up every single fingerprint," Victoria told viewers.

She added that she finds herself cleaning her fridge door two or three times a day.

"Whether it’s a white fridge or a gray fridge they just don’t seem to show up as much so next time I will absolutely not be getting a black fridge," she said.

Victoria also added that excessive plants, in particular fake plants, can also collect dust in your home.

TikTok users shared their own areas for high-maintenance cleaning in the comments section.

"Glass cupboard or tables ugh," suggested one viewer.

Another follower said: "Laminate flooring or wood floors, the moment you get it wet it's ruined and I hate the fact it can't have a really good mop."

"Granite worktops, glass balustrade, wool carpets, tiles in the hallway, flat sinks, all the things the builder did in ours, hate them," commented a third person.
